allawi flip flops

allawi gave a sobering view about security in iraq in a speech yesterday, a very different tune than the one he sang in september:

"In a news conference at the White House, Allawi told reporters the reality of Iraq is far different than the bombings and beheadings seen on television and in newspapers. He said Iraq has 18 provinces and 15 are safe places where people are peacefully living." (September 23, 2004)

at least we know he's not a puppet
